Griffiths Marshall Merges
With Jeremy Williams & Co
Griffiths Marshall has merged with the accountancy firm, Jeremy Williams & Co.
The practice, which is based in Lydney, was founded, and is still run, by Jeremy Williams, a well-known and respected accountant from the Forest of Dean. Since 1976 Jeremy has offered a range of business services from accounts preparation and bookkeeping to management accounts and auditing.
The timing of the merger coincides with Jeremy’s future plans, Griffiths Marshall’s strategy to expand their client base across Gloucester and the surrounding area and the admission of Ian Price into the Partnership who lives in the Forest of Dean. The Lydney office, the staff and the trading name will be retained in full servicing existing and new clients from the area. The current clients will continue to see the same friendly faces, as well as meeting new members of staff from the Griffiths Marshall team.
Jeremy is delighted with the merger and he is certain that after looking into a number of different options Griffiths Marshall were the outstanding choice in securing the long term future of his staff and clients which he has worked so hard to build over the past thirty years. Jeremy is also pleased to be staying on in the role of consultant to the practice, enabling him to ensure that the business is handed over in the most efficient and professional manner.
Commenting on the merger, Griffiths Marshall Senior Partner, Chris Bourne said:
“I’m delighted to welcome the Jeremy Williams & Co staff and clients to Griffiths Marshall. This merger plays an important role in helping us to expand the firm. With Jeremy and his team’s continued input I have no doubt that this venture will be successful for everyone involved, particularly our clients.
What with the daily newsfeed of doom and gloom, it is reassuring to see that successful businesses like Griffiths Marshall can continue to grow and to retain the jobs of local people, whilst being able to give more support and advice to local businesses.
We see that Jeremy has instilled the same ethos into his practice as we have at Griffiths Marshall. That is to provide a friendly and professional service to all businesses that we deal with whilst ensuring all staff are cared for. The merger with Jeremy Williams & Co seemed to be the right thing at the right time and we are all very excited about the future.”
Griffiths Marshall has strong links in the Forest with a number of key staff living in the area. They are the sponsors of Broadwell AFC, have staff links with Lydney RFC and regularly participate in local charity events. They already act for a number of clients and so have a good understanding of local businesses.
Griffiths Marshall have a successful practice dealing with a wide range of clients from the self employed to large businesses turning over in excess of £50 million per annum. Chris and Jeremy believe the merged practice will now be able to support local businesses of all sizes due to the increased resources and technical ability that Griffiths Marshall bring to the Forest and surrounding area.
